Deck the halls (preferably with gloves…) – tra la la la la!

After his not-entirely-comfortable encounter with the Christmas tree, Ted was (understandably) somewhat trepidatious in his approach to the holly wreath Herself been  tweaking, equally cautiously, into existence all afternoon…

Having saved the wiry carcass of last Christmas’s florist-crafted holly wreath, I’m hoping to fashion my own festive front-door furniture this year. However, despite our garden being 90% sprawling miscellaneous foliage, there is not a single trace of holly and, as we had resolved to coax our living Christmas tree into surviving beyond the festivities and to taking up a rather more permanent residence outside, thought we ought to spare it the quick ‘pruning’ I had planned by which to avail myself of the other traditional wreath-making materials. Consequently, there’s a distinct likelihood that we will be hanging a circle of tightly knotted ivy (of which we have an abundant, ornamental-shrub-choking supply) on the door instead. I might snaffle a few baubles from Vlad’s underskirts, though, to pretty it up a little…
