Prospecting for presents…

Just in the proverbial ‘nick’ of time (what a curious phrase, once you examine it…), my scrawling for the 4th day of Advent:

Ah-ha! The unmistakable glow of discovered, wrapped Christmas present - ripe for the diagnostic prodding/rattling/squeezing!

Ah-ha! The unmistakable glow of discovered, wrapped Christmas present – ripe for the diagnostic prodding/rattling/squeezing!

If it looks like a peculiarly authentic scene, this is probably due to the fact that I have drawn quite heavily upon personal, ‘misspent childhood’ (yes, ‘childhood’ – because I definitely haven’t succumbed to any such furtive present-hunting in my adult life…) experience. And, if it looks particularly familiar to you, perhaps you engaged in similar surreptitious under-bed/back-of-sofa/atop-wardrobe searches, as a child. #understood.
