Appet-ice-rs (a *taste* of things to come…?)

We’ve had only the merest dusting of snow so far this December, and the chirpy presenter on last night’s weather forecast veritably danced a self-congratulatory jig while delivering the news that we could expect “not as much ‘The Beast from the East’ [Siberian blizzard-type conditions] as the ‘Pest from the West’ [more rain]”, but I thought it was high time I summoned the first snowflake-on-the-tongue moment of the season into illustrated form:
